You are probably wondering what I’m talking about. Hay Day. What’s this Hay Day game all about anyway? Well, let me enlighten you. This is one addictive and fun game. I have been playing it every day since 2014. It all started when our family was on a trip. My oldest son and I were looking for different games that we could play together. We came across this app and decided to give it a try. It was so fun! Now, of course, that he’s older he no longer has an interest in playing but I do. The game initially launched in 2012 so I’ve really been playing from the beginning.

Objective

In this game, you have a farm. On that farm, you can grow a variety of crops. You can raise many different kinds of animals such as cows, pigs, ducks, sheep, and goats. You also have a fishing hole where you can fish, drop traps to capture lobsters, as well as fish with fishing poles and catch ducks. You also have many different kinds of trees and bushes that you can plant. They will provide you with different fruits, beans, berries, and even peanuts. With the crops you grow and harvest, you have machines that can produce different foods for you, as well.

You also have a personal town. In this town, you have an assortment of buildings. They can range from spas to a cinema to a bed and breakfast. A train pulls in a few times a day with visitors. Those visitors will let you know which building they would like to visit. Once they are inside, they will request certain foods in exchange for rewards. There are so many other things to mention that I could go on and on.

The object of the game is to just have fun. You can join your farm into a “neighborhood” of other player’s farms and help each other complete tasks and compete with other neighborhoods. There is no objective of the game. You just play, level up, and have fun.

I play Hay Day for relaxation. I find it so relaxing and enjoyable to just sit back and farm. My neighborhood has been together for several years now. We’ve had a few new members join along the way but for the most part, we’ve been the originals. Even though we’ve never met, we have a relationship based on our daily interactions on the game. I think it would be cool to one day get everyone together to meet. We have players from all over the world; India, Australia, Indonesia, and of course, the US.

Supercell does an incredible job keeping their game fresh and new.  Each season or holiday they deck out the farms.  The animals all wear different costumes and you can decorate your farm with different decor.  They are also constantly introducing new items to the game.  If there are any known issues, they address them immediately, too.  

If you are looking for a laid back and fun game, try it out. Just be prepared that this just might become your new daily ritual.
